Assuming this card is stable Aoc-wat2-mv8 am very happy right now. I downloaded the Linux driver from the Highpoint site but I am having some trouble getting it to work. All the same I think I’m going to ditch it, get a 4 port PCI-E card and then upgrade the smaller disks in my system with 2tb ones, that would give me enough room for the next year at least. They work fine out of the box for SATA. Ok that’s more of what I expected, and that’s pretty damn awesome.
Worked out of the box with no configuration using Debian Edgy Eft kernel 2. What model are those drives?

Not sure if this is actually your problem unless have been this full for a long period of time. So it seems that this controller is really more uncompatible if aoc–sat2-mv8 is such a thing with your Samsung, than it was with my WD.

It ran through a full parity check fine and I tried the disks in various positions on the controller just accessing data on disks and didn’t manage to get it to hang once.
